Bio: Evasio Montanella (Genoa, 24 December 1878 - 10 June 1940) was an Italian painter. He was one of the greatest Genovese painters between the 19th and 20th centuries. He painted both still lifes and scenes of daily life, preferring marine topics such as the world of fishermen, fishmongers, mending nets, among whom he spent his life. He was a municipal councilor of the natio Pra ', now a district of Genoa but once a common autonomous, from 1910 to 1919. Genoa has dedicated a street to his birthplace, an elementary school located in Via Branega and the "Associazione Corale Evasio Montanella", founded in 1984 by the master Gianfranco Giolfo.
